Position Information:


A key accountability for the Head Teacher Administration is to strengthen our team culture through the development and implementation of high-impact school induction programs for casual and temporary staff, and building a team of a second and third-in-charge for this role.

The management of day-to-day staff absences, casual appointments, event and examination management, and Special Religious Education are amongst other key responsibilities.

The Head Teacher Administration will manage school daily organisation including the recruitment of casual and temporary teachers and the management of whole school mentoring program for early career and other newly appointed teachers.


Selection Criteria:

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,


  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills that supports the daily organisation of a high school.
  • Capacity to initiate and implement high-impact induction, training and mentoring experiences for early career teachers and newly appointed teachers to the teaching profession.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage complex school administration matters.
  • Capacity to lead the planning and implementation of high-impact curricular and co-curricular learning experiences.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
