_Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Post Graduate Fellow to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital_


We are looking for a Post Graduate Fellow in Haematology Clinical Cellular Therapy The primary purpose of the role of the Post Graduate Fellow in Haematology (Clinical Cellular Therapy) is to provide program of additional training to develop subspecialty interests in Haematology Clinical Cellular Therapy and Stem Cell transplantation, and to further develop core clinical skills required in this area.

The Post Graduate Fellow will have completed advanced training to become a specialist medical practitioner in Haematology, and/or have completed specialist training in another discipline relevant to the Fellowship training program.

Although not an essential requirement, an appropriately qualified appointee to this position with FRCPA in Laboratory Haematology may also be granted scope of clinical practice by NSW Health Pathology.


The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Haematology at the level of Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Haematology Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as required.

They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.

The Haematology Department of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital is one of the leading Australian centres in Haematology Immune Cellular Therapy, for which it is one of two designated NSW centres, and in stem cell transplantation.

Its intense activity in the care of patients by these therapies involving an expertly trained and coordinated team provides an excellent environment in which to gain experience in these specialised areas.

The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA) with recognised qualifications in Haematology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award

Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered).

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.


All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.


To be employed by NSW Health, you are required to provide evidence of current immunity status that complies with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy.
