The Mental Health Commission NSW is seeking interested applicants for the position of Manager Corporate Services within the Directorate of Operations and Engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small fast paced team that is committed to providing a high standard of operational and corporate governance support to ensure the Commission achieves its required statutory functions and policy obligations.


The Commission is a small agency of about 30 FTE based in the Sydney CBD and working flexibly within hybrid workplace guidelines.

Role of Directorate Operations and Engagement The Directorate of Operations and Engagement delivers of a range of functions including corporate governance, business operations, human resources, finance, procurement, stakeholder engagement and communications.


Primary Purpose of the Role


The Manager Corporate Services is required to lead both strategic and operational delivery of corporate services to provide optimal operational support to the Commission.

The role is required to provide strategic advice and analysis to ensure that the corporate services meet contemporary standards, and are planned to meet future agency requirements, and reflect emerging trends or policy developments.


Key Accountabilities

  • Develop plans, strategies, policies and processes to achieve a high standard of corporate services that are timely and consistent with strategic priorities and approved business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and policies including records management and cyber security.
  • Provide regular operational budget plans, financial management reports and projections that are linked to the Commission's business plans and comply with NSW Health financial, asset management and procurement policies.
  • Manage and coordinate workforce services and the provision of expert advice from HealthShare HR Business Partner to the Commission including recruitment, award and policy advice, induction of new staff, workplace health and safety, payroll and other workforce related functions.
  • Develop positive and productive relationships and effective management of shared service arrangements with HealthShare and eHealth that include business partnerships relating to for example HR, recruitment, finance, procurement, contracts and ICT.
  • Facilitate advice and support to the Commission with the development, implementation and ongoing management of contracts and grants.
  • Provide relevant advice relating to operational risks and incidents, including an operations risk register, the timely reporting of any significant operational incidents as well as pro
- active response to identifying potential solutions and preventative actions.

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate operational policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient corporate services and business operations.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the performance of the Corporate Services to establish and promote a service focused culture based on continuous improvement, shared values and teamwork
  • Build strong positive relationships internally within the Commission as well as externally with key stakeholders that provide essential operational services such as HealthShare and eHealth.
