Humphris Nursery is a large, progressive manufacturing plant nursery operation, based in Mooroolbark with a team of 120+ individuals, four production sites and a retail facility located in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and the Yarra Valley.


Established in the 1850's and cared for by 6 generations of the Humphris family, we've modernised, and evolved into the market leader that we are today, something we're incredibly proud of.


Due to business expansion, we are seeking an individual for a multi-site General Maintenance / Property Maintenance role to join our team.

The position would be suitable for an active tradesperson/handyman person.


Key tasks of this position includes:

  • General property maintenance duties requiring basic construction skills
  • Greenhouse repairs and construction
  • Plumbing and irrigation installation and irrigation repairs
  • Fencing and retaining wall construction and repair; ground preparation and drainage;
  • Mechanical repairs and maintenance of trailers and trolleys, servicing of equipment and machinery
  • Experience operating a frontend loader or tractor with attachments and other farming style equipment for general sitemaintenance tasks
There is the requirement to work at our four production locations
  • Mooroolbark,
Gruyere, Woori Yallock and Mt Evelyn sites. The variety of tasks, expected of you in this role, ensures that you will not be bored.

Your own transport is essential, there is no public transport.

The successful applicant must be able to work in all environments.

The role is permanent, 5 days per week, Monday - Friday with flexible start times from 6.30am.


The successful applicant will need to be an all-rounder, problem solver, lateral thinker, passionate, demonstrate an understanding of property or general maintenance, the farming industry or construction environments.

You must have good communication skills, a strong work ethic, be a team player yet have the ability to work independently and show personal initiative and have a willingness to learn and have the proficiency to take ownership of tasks to ensure they are completed to a high standard.

Salary:
$52, $60,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:
