About the role:


In this role, you will provide a wide range of administrative support to our Professional Support team and our Legal Practice and Professional Support Lawyers, based within the program area.

This includes word processing, formatting, editing calendar management, preparing agendas, and responding to requests for information.

You will also assist the Precedents Coordinator in updating and maintaining Victoria Legal Aid's (VLA) precedents collection as required using technologies such as an automated document generation system and SharePoint.


About you:


  • A gogetter with a proactive attitude, with the ability to quickly learn and develop new skills.
  • Demonstrated administrative and office support skills including performing tasks accurately and with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and work under pressure while ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, a demonstrated ability to quickly uptake SharePoint and an automated document generation system, and some basic coding knowledge.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and a proven ability to communicate, negotiate and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders that affect the work of the Practice Support team.

About the Practice Support team:


The Practice Support team support the efficient delivery of quality services to clients by providing lawyers with best practice resources such as the LawHub and VLA website and intranet content.

We work closely with the Professional Support Lawyers in the program areas who create legislative updates, guides, checklists, case notes, factsheets, self-help kits and records of instructions and assessments, including the provision of support for accredited specialisation and up-to-date precedent collections.
