We are Seeking an individual with significant experience in Product & Service Safety management to lead the development & implementation of BDA's Products & Services Safety Risk Management & Safety Assurance framework & program.

LOCATION:
Brisbane /Newcastle/Adelaide


Responsibilities

  • Manage development and implementation of Boeing Defence Australia's Products & Services Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance framework and program, (process, competencies and tools) to support BDA and Board Level safety management outcomes;
  • Interface with stakeholders including Quality and Environment Health and Safety functions on P&S SMS assurance and risk activities;
  • Provide oversight, facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis from, and assurance (evaluation) of, the product and services Safety Reporting System against SMS requirements;
  • Ensure timely collection and analysis of product and services safety data for safety risk analysis and safety performance measurement functions;
  • Facilitate and monitor the escalation of safety risks in collaboration with the Risk and Safety Reporting and SMS Lead. Provide technical leadership and mentoring for the creation of risk assessments; risk analysis escalation records. Articulate changes in Safety Risk to the Accountable Executive via the SMS Lead and Manager P&SS;
  • Liaise with the BDA Mission Assurance Division Lead, and other BDA investigation and event management stakeholders to ensure safety investigation framework for products and services meets SMS requirements and is effectively executed;
  • Provide oversight and auditing of Safety Action Groups and Safety Review Boards to ensure suitable maturity of inputs, quorum attendance and compliance with applicable regulation(s);
  • Provide technical leadership to design and develop effective safety performance and Safety Performance Indicators;
  • Facilitate Hazard Working Groups to create and mature risk assessment and hold executive stakeholder reviews for risk escalations or risk register reviews;
  • Support SMS Policy and Promotion Lead to communicate safety issues within the organisation, including providing metrics to inform targeted promotion activities;
  • Support the Safety Investigator on significant Products & Services Safety investigations when requested, including provision of peer review of reports or facilitation of the Event Review Group where required;
  • In conjunction with other Risk & Assurance Team members, provide Subject Matter Expert support in the development of SMS Training.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Safety/quality management experience, including auditing and/or assurance experience in a complex management system;
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System, ICAO Annex 19 and Defence Aviation Safety Regulations;
  • Understanding of the role of Human Factors in safety management;
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • ISO 9001 Approved Lead Auditor training and/or qualification or Safety Investigator training and/or qualifications would be an advantage
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
