NPG RETAIL PTY LTD is a long-established and successful privately owned petrol, convenience, food and coffee retailer.

With 7 retail locations across west and southwest Sydney, the role of the Operations Manager is critical to the performance and success of the sites.


The Area Operations Manager will play a key leadership role in driving the retail strategy to achieve sales growth and act as a liaison between stores and other functions including finance, payroll, food and confectionary suppliers, fuel suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Day to day duties include:

People and leadership:


  • Lead the team of managers, provide direction, support, and guidance
  • Recruitment, onboarding and orientation of new employees
  • Train, coach and develop retail team members
  • Conduct quarterly performance appraisals with Retail Managers
  • Support Retail managers with rostering and day to day operations of their sites
  • Organise, plan agenda, and host monthly Store Manager meetings

Sales achievement:


  • Lead the retail strategy for sales budgets and sales achievement
  • Execute retail and petrol promotions at store level
  • Ensure store merchandising is as per planogram
  • Encourage team to promote and support instore promotions and sales

Compliance:


  • Ensure OH&S and environmental obligations are followed
  • Ensure fire safety and hazard procedures are up to date
  • Ensure fuel deliveries occur in timely manner as per procedure
  • Manage fuel inventory and reconciliation for Environmental Authorities

Operations:


  • Perform regular stocktake of highvalue items and perform site audits
  • Oversee operational issues such as repairs and maintenance and ensure quarterly, half yearly and annual services are scheduled and completed

About you:


  • 1 + years in a multisite retail position
  • Experience working with a blend of convenience, food and beverage
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • A passionate retailer who loves a fast paced, everchanging and challenging environment.
  • A quick learner and have the desire to work autonomously when you have all the relevant company knowledge and compliance understanding.

$80, $90,000.00 per year
