About the Opportunity

  • Exciting opportunity to join the Operations, Engagement and Customer Service team at the NSW Small Business Commission. You will manage the delivery of business services and collaborate with stakeholders to facilitate quality processes, systems and effective services for the Commission's customers. You will also use your data and analytical skills to deliver quality insights to support continuous improvement of the Commission's processes, and to enhance the experience of customers._

About Us
The NSW Small Business Commission is an independent statutory office of the NSW Government. We provide strategic advice, advocacy and affordable dispute resolution services to small businesses across NSW.


Our role includes:

  • Encouraging government agencies and larger businesses to enter productive working relationships with small businesses
  • Facilitating and encouraging the fair treatment of small businesses
  • Promoting a fair operating environment in which small businesses can flourish.


As a key advocate for small businesses across NSW the Commission aims to ensure small business needs are front-of-mind for NSW Government decisions, support and assistance.

The Commission also plays an important role in connecting small businesses, councils and industry groups to vital information and support services.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Provide expert advice, information, and reports on diverse operational matters to facilitate informed decision making and strategic and operational planning.
  • Develop business initiatives and specific projects / programs including change, quality assurance, procurement, risk, ICT and asset management to contribute to the continuous improvement of business operations.
  • Analyse and report on customer and operational data insights to inform policy and advocacy opportunities for the Commission.
  • Manage and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met and business improvements are delivered.
  • Provide issues management and support, responding to emerging issues to enable effective resolution and minimising risk to the organisation.
  • Lead and develop team capabilities, performance and reporting to enhance business and customer experience.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in economics and/or business.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high performing team.
  • Demonstrated experience working with data and developing insights and dashboards in PowerBI which are tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills, working in a collaborative way across teams and managing complex customer enquiries.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within a salesforce customer relationship management environment.
