THE ROLE


The Project Controls Lead is responsible for the management of all Project Control activities within the Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub (HVHH) project including scheduling, cost control, estimating, change management, progress measurement, risk management and reporting.


This role will own all progress, cost, schedule and risk communication with executive stakeholders (JV Partners, Government grant parties) and be able to articulate progress, change, risk and cost forecast.


More about the role:


  • Manage significant complexity associated with forecasting against satisfactory project performance and milestones
  • Including justification for eligible spend, cash calls and contributions from these parties (Government agencies and JV).
  • Lead the development and coordination of project controls execution strategies and procedures for the HVHH project; specifically managing project change management, cost, planning and estimating.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager & project leadership team to determine Project Controls reporting requirements to support the needs of the project and Future fuels concerning cost estimating/forecasting activities and promote the project controls function, procedures and toolsets within the management team.
  • Manage cost activities including use of cost control systems, invoice & accruals processing and via the financial system, monthly cost reporting, trending, forecastatcomplete (FAC) analysis, cost variance analysis, funding budgets and cash flows.
  • Manage planning and scheduling activities including development of summary and detailed project schedules, progress and performance monitoring, schedule deviations and workaround solutions (scenario planning); plan and manage the execution of internal audits of critical commercial internal control systems.
  • Coordinate change management activities including the inception of change notification and consolidation of supporting documentation, driving timely delivery of functional team Impact Assessments, and close out final endorsement, approval and notification.
  • Lead others within project controls and provide guidance, direction, leadership and support to achieve project deliverables and ensure cohesive teamwork.

ABOUT YOU


To be successful in this role you will have the ability to liaise across different disciplines within the project, Future Fuels Team and wider Origin teams is essential as is the capacity to interact with internal and external stakeholders key to the delivery of the project.


MORE ABOUT YOU:

  • Leadership/supervisory experience in project controls for major projects in the Energy, Chemicals, Manufacturing or the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Bachelor Degree in Project, Business or Management related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Assess/Select, Develop (FEED) & Execute project experience
  • Large scale project delivery experience $250M +
  • Project Controls experience covering the functions of cost control, estimating, planning, risk analysis, forecasting; and integration of planning, scheduling and cost data.
  • Ability to develop high quality reporting and analysis for senior Internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge and skills in the use of software such as Primavera (planning/scheduling) and Prism (cost control)
  • Problem solving and analytical skills,
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise work with tight deadlines
