As the Menu Development Specialist, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of food and beverage related activities for Qantas Group Airlines as well as the entire food and beverage portfolio including customer meals, crew meals, special meals, charters and events.

This position is also responsible for the project management and on time delivery of initiatives covering all aspects of the Food, Beverage and Service portfolio.

This position will work with caterers, external suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders in menu and product design and delivery and manages the performance of suppliers and resolve any areas of under performance.

The role will also drive a continuous improvement philosophy to deliver customer value, business efficiency, competitive advantage and cost improvement.

This role involves domestic travel.

You will have:

Background in food and beverage in a catering setting with a strong understanding of catering processes and operations
Knowledge of airline Food and Beverage practices and principles highly desirable
Strong communication skills both face to face and written
Strong supplier management skills
Ability to constantly reevaluate processes and to drive improved business practices
Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines and able to manage multiple projects within required timeframes
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
Excellent numeracy and computer literacy with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and collaborate with other departments
