Closing Date: 12/09/2023- Job Type: Temporary- Location: Maitland- Job Category: Education, Childcare & TrainingAll Saints' College, Maitland is seeking a temporary full time Leader of Learning - Religious Education to join the team in 2024, until the transition to one Campus.


At the end of transition to one Campus, this role will hold a substantive 1.0 permanent full-time Classroom Teacher role.


All Saints' College is a coeducational year 7-12 Catholic School which is part of the Maitland Newcastle Diocese system of schools.

With approximately 1400 students and 200 staff learning and working across 2 campuses, we are the largest school in our diocese and one of the largest Catholic Schools in the state.

St Peter's Campus caters for our year 7-10 students, and St Mary's Campus caters for our senior students in years 11 and 12.

Following the decision by the Diocese in 2021 the College will be transitioning to one campus in the next few years.

The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes.

The teacher will acknowledge and agree to the requirement to work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.


Leaders of Learning work in collaboration with the school leadership team and colleagues to promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning principles.


Within their faculty they will:
- ensure the highest standards of teaching practice
- lead and support the ongoing development, implementation and oversight of quality teaching programs and learning outcomes
- have deep understanding and expertise in KLA curriculum requirements
- establish a culture of collaborative and reflective practice
- support individuals in identifying new experiences for their continual professional development
- know their students and strive to provide engaging learning that supports student wellbeing.


Desired Skills and Experience:


EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Demonstrated success in ensuring a culture of continuous improvement, creating and leading effective professional learning and building the capacity of teachers as leaders in learning
  • Demonstrated management and administrative skills to ensure assessment, and teaching and learning programs operate effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively utilise data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes, to think and act strategically, and to support the Leadership Team in leading the mission of the school
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop and sustain constructive And respectful relationships within and beyond the school community
  • Prior leadership experience (Desirable)
  • Working towards Highly Accomplished or Lead Teaching Standards (Desirable)
  • Experience teaching Stage 6 Studies in Catholic Thought (Desirable)
  • Experience teaching Stage 46 Studies of Religion (Desirable)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fouryear trained teacher classification with at least four years successful teaching experience consistent with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation
  • Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
  • Completion of anaphylaxis training
  • Postgraduate study in education (e.g. Master of leadership, educational leadership, IT, Curriculum) (Desirable)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020. This position will attract a 2 point Coordinator allowance of $674.19 per fortnight.
