The Associate Producer works, with the direction of the Senior Producer, to assist in the design, development and delivery of a range of arts cultural events programmed in the FUSE festival's annual program.


About City of Darebin and Council

It is home to many Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, and a large number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people work, live and play within the municipality.

Festivals and Events team
The Festivals and Events team design, develop and deliver FUSE, Darebin's new multi
- arts and culture festival which happens twice a year in March and September.


About the Role
Liaise with artists, companies and venues external to council, as well as, collaborate with government and non
- government organisations. Collaborate in a team of experienced creative producers and be part of a dynamic, creative team who are passionate about supporting local artists to create community, culture and art. Work closely with the Darebin Aboriginal Advisory Committee and First Nations curators and artists producing Ganbu Gulin, an annual Welcome to Country ceremony for all citizens.


Duties

  • Design and deliver some elements of the FUSE festival program
  • Liaise with artists, companies, venues, ticketing, production, marketing and staff part of FUSE as required
  • Monitor budgets for individual programs and projects
  • Report regularly on work progress to the Senior Producer
  • Ensuring all their work practices reflect the appropriate risk management and OH &S principles and policies.
  • Research creative industries to support Festival programming

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in delivering Arts and Cultural projects and programs
  • Knowledge of the Arts and Creative industries and experience in working with artists on arts and cultural events
  • Knowledge of word processing, database, spreadsheet and desktop publishing skills
  • Financial skills with previous experience in delivering festival and arts events or programs on budget
  • Skilled in planning, organisational, reporting, documenting skills and organising one's own work
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, contractors and volunteers.
  • An understanding of and ability to implement personnel practices including equal opportunity and health and safety, training and development
