About the Role
The Exhibition Project Officer Lead is a crucial role that sits within the Exhibitions Team. This role is offered on a full-time ongoing basis.

Your previous experience will be utilised in the development and delivery of exhibition projects at the Australian Museum (AM) as part of the Production Team.


You will take a lead role on small to mid-sized projects, tasks will include production and delivery, fabricating components such as plinths and object mounts, installing and de-installing displays, and workshop oversight and maintenance.

As part of the team your role will be to ensure that exhibitions are delivered on time and maintained to the highest standards and that the visitor experience is engaging, enjoyable and safe.


You will be paid a competitive annual salary $92,537 - $101,946, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 10.5%) and annual leave loading.


Essential Requirements

  • Trade certificate in areas of Carpentry/Joinery, Cabinet Making or equivalent; or a minimum of five years' experience in a relevant field of exhibition production; or
  • Relevant degree, in Applied Arts, Fine Arts, Engineering or qualifications deemed equivalent; or relevant work experience of not less than nine years.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading the production and delivery of museum exhibitions as well as working collaboratively as part of a project team.

Your Knowledge & Experience
To be successful in this role you will be required to:

  • Be highly skilled in the following key areas: Fabrication and Construction or Preparation.
  • Able to perform and conduct Maintenance Management, Estimating/Costing and Network planning.
