Overview


The Department of Paediatric Dentistry is a specialist paediatric dental unit within the Women's and Children's Hospital that provides dental care to eligible children and adolescents _from birth to 18 years of age_ in outpatient clinic, operating room and emergency settings.

We also partner with our medical and surgical teams in the management of patients with complex medical conditions and special health care needs.

We provide in-patient support for the oral health care needs of patients admitted to WCH and 24-hour emergency dental service in coordination with the Paediatric Emergency Department.

We have an excellent opportunity for a
Dental Registrar to join our team.


The Paediatric Dental Unit provides a safe, effective, efficient and quality dental service to the inpatients and outpatients of the Women's & Children's Hospital and affiliated agencies.

We are looking for a suitably Registered Dentist (with the Dental Board of Australia) who has the demonstrated ability to:

- provide a consultancy and advisory service to management and staff at all levels and to establish and maintain both integrity and confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive nature.
- communicate, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of people on a range of sensitive and complex issues.
- work effectively within a small team environment.
- work independently and under limited direction to meet deadlines and achieve agreed outputs whilst working with demanding and sometimes competing priorities.
- develop and implement constructive and innovative policies, practices and procedures to assist and facilitate the achievement of organisational goals.

The Women's and Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.


We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

We also provides important community-based services.


Each year, more than 30,000 people are admitted and about 5000 babies are born at the Women's and Children's Hospital.

In addition more than 250,000 people come to the hospital as outpatients.

The hospital has 295 beds. The hospital's paediatric and adolescent wards cater for all paediatric specialties. Women's wards provide antenatal, gynaecology, neonatal and postnatal care.
