About the Opportunity


Consumer and Business Services is looking for a motivated team leader with a background in law/legislation or decision-making experience in a regulatory environment to lead the Liquor and Gaming team.


Role highlights:


  • Fastpace and diverse customerfacing arm of State Government
  • Collaborating with and maintaining strategic relationships with industry, private sector and all levels of government
  • Engaging directly with South Australia's liquor and gaming licensees and representatives
  • Implementing legislative reform and influencing future reform directions
  • Leading a mediumsize team and adopting continuous improvement of liquor and gaming operations within the larger Licensing Branch.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience leading and managing customer-centric, medium-size operational teams
  • Background in law or legislation, or decisionmaking experience in a regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to foster a culture of excellence and implement continuous business process and system improvements
  • Experience in providing highlevel written and verbal advice to external stakeholders and senior management
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build positive working relationships with people at all levels.

About the Business


The Attorney-General's Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia.

Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General's Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians.

CBS is customer focused and flexible in its activities, providing accessible information and services.

CBS constitutes a large part of South Australia's business/consumer regulatory system and is the regulator for many businesses and professions.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
