Overview:


We are currently seeking a skilled Community Development Project Officer to undertake some priority planning and research projects for the Community Development Team for a Local Government Council.

Develop and lead a range of interesting projects to progress.

A genuine interest in leading sector engagement and research to explore options for Council to consider for a holistic wellbeing support service incorporating assertive outreach, to positively engage and facilitate access to support for vulnerable community members.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the research, consultation and prepare options paper for potential assertive outreach and wellbeing support service.
  • Support a review of Men's Shed support and longterm options for location, scale and cooperative potential and preparation of options paper and/or relevant reports.
  • Support a review of the Adachi Exchange Program including risk assessment and preparation of options paper and/or relevant reports.
  • Support a review of the Community Contribution Fund and improvement options.
  • Support writing and finalisation of the Aboriginal Strategy.
  • Collaborative support to projects of other team members as required.

Skills required for the role:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar community development, social services, or social research and engagement role.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant social science discipline or significant industry experience.
  • Sound research, consultation, report writing and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evaluation frameworks and designing and implementing program evaluation.

Desirable:

  • Relevant experience in the homelessness and/or assertive outreach sector.
