  • Salary circa $160k base
  • Work on exciting major infrastructure projects
Design & Build are currently looking for an experienced Sustainability Manager to work on major road projects in Victoria.

You will be joining a national contractor who are committed to building sustainable infrastructure that benefits the community and the environment.


Role & Responsibilities


As the Sustainability Manager you will ensure our projects deliver positive sustainability, environmental and social outcomes and meet all our sustainability rating and MRPV sustainability specification and reporting requirements.


  • Lead the project Sustainability Team and support the Project Manager to deliver successful IS Design and As Built Ratings
  • Assist National Environment and Sustainability Manager (NESM) and Sustainability Lead with the development and implementation of corporate procedures, standards and specifications.
  • Support Project Environmental Managers [EM's] and Project teams in the meeting sustainability rating delivery & reporting requirements
  • Prepare and review Credit Summary Forms with the Teams.
  • Review and provide feedback / comments to SQP's, Designers, etc on IS rating submissions including specialist reports, CSF's, evidence documents, etc.
  • Assist in sustainability audits and validations.
  • Support the construction team during project delivery of Projects.
  • Delivery of sustainability programmes and initiatives
  • Support the NESM, PM and EMs in the coordination and implementation of Design and As-Built Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) v1.2 sustainability rating

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
  • 5 years' experience on infrastructure civil or rail construction projects, specifically site experience and hands on experience in managing IS ratings on projects
  • IS Accredited Professional (ISAP)
  • Experience in implementing and managing Design and Construction Sustainability Management Plans and relevant procedures/subplans.
  • Current C-Class Driver's License
