About This Employer - Department of housing, children and families, servicing the Top End of The NT

Position Specifics -

Lead and supervise a team of professional child protection staff in the delivery of statutory and non-statutory welfare services to children, families, individuals, groups and communities in accord with relevant legislation, policies and procedures

.

Key Aspects

Staff supervision, training and development of a team of staff involved in the delivery of statutory and non-statutory welfare services.
Service Delivery
Undertake statutory responsibilities and exercise delegations under the Care and Protection of Childrens Act in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Case Management
As a member of the Department's management team, contribute to the overall management of the office, including data collection, practice standards, workload trends, program development, community networking and consultation to achieve an integrated best practice approach to service delivery.

Maintain and build relationships with key stakeholders and Indigenous communities.

Essential Skill Set:

Social Work/ Psychology Qualifications
A demonstrated understanding of child protection
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with Indigenous communities and families
Computer literacy with ability to use electronic patient databases
