About the Opportunity


Our Team Based Learning Facilitators are expected to make contributions to the teaching and learning efforts of the School of Medicine and Dentistry and to carry out activities which support, maintain and develop scholarly, and/or professional activities relevant to the discipline of medicine.

They will facilitate large and small groups of students through their classroom activities and prepare for classroom activity using the guidelines provided by the Course Convenor.

Facilitators will be available through TBL classes to supervise and respond to student queries and collaborate with co-facilitators to promote group work and active participation of students in classroom activity.


We are therefore seeking applicants with some expertise and experience in developing and demonstrated experience in managing curriculum and course requirements within a medical program.


The incumbent will work in a small team of academics, clinicians and other facilitators and will contribute to the development and delivery of the School's Doctor of Medicine program.

These are casual academic positions based at Griffith University's Gold Coast campus.


Salary range

Facilitators will be paid at the 'Other Required Academic Activity Rate' of between $ $56.81 per hour depending on the nature of their qualifications.

Facilitators will be paid for delivery time, a pre-determined allocation for preparation for each TBL session, as well as an allocation for attendance at briefings/de-briefings which would be equivalent to nine (9) hours per week.


Qualifications:


About You

To be successful in this position you will possess a medical degree from a recognised educational institution and/or a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (health sciences, biomedical sciences, or education).


You will have a commitment to fostering innovation and a future-focused approach to support high quality learning and teaching outcomes for students evidenced by technology enhanced learning, problem oriented, authentic learning, and assessment practices.

Further, you will have a demonstrated track-record in promoting and supporting a student-centred service culture and establishment of positive, respectful, and supportive relationships between staff and students.
