PURPOSE OF THE DEPARTMENT / ROLE
The department is responsible for the development and management of all cargo projects in Australia. The Freight Sales Analyst is responsible for analysing sales data, market research trends and identifying sales opportunities.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Performance Analysis:


  • Analyse sales data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, volume, profit margins, and market share to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies.

Forecasting and Budgeting:


  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets based on historical data, market trends, and input from the sales team.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure alignment of forecasts with resource allocation and capacity planning.

Market Research and Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging market trends, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights on competitive pricing, service offerings, and market positioning to guide strategic decisionmaking.

Sales Reporting and Dashboards:


  • Design and maintain comprehensive sales dashboards and reports for realtime tracking of sales performance.
  • Create visually appealing and easytounderstand presentations to communicate insights to key stakeholders.

Performance Metrics Tracking:


  • Develop and implement standardized sales performance metrics to evaluate individual and team achievements.
  • Collaborate with sales managers to establish performance benchmarks and provide datadriven recommendations for improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:


  • Work closely with the sales team to provide analytical support for sales campaigns, pricing strategies, and customer negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure efficient order processing, shipment tracking, and customer satisfaction.

Sales Project Process:


  • Prepare the sales team weekly report and provide it to the National Freight Manager each week.
  • Liaise with transport & warehouse companies nationally for competitive pricing on shipments.
  • Build own working relationships with breakbulk carriers / heavy haulage companies and Customs.
  • Check with shipping lines for service options and quotations.
  • Research upcoming project opportunities and identify key contacts
  • Attend conferences and intermodal events to build new relationships.
  • Attend project load outs / discharge and supervise delivery / heavy lifts.
  • Work where requested and required outside normal business hours.
  • Find solutions for maximising profit such as negotiating with shipping lines on freight rates and warehouse / transport companies.
  • Utilising Sales Force as our inhouse sales CRM with regular workflow & pipeline updates.
  • Identify new leads for BDM to follow up and close.
  • Provide Sea Freight FCL / LCL & Airfreight quotations to overseas agents as needed.
  • Build relationships & quote local direct clients as needed.

GENERAL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High level communication skills for negotiating with shipping lines and liaising with overseas and local clients.
  • Confidence and role ownership.
  • Ability to work with Sales CRM, MS Office and Cargowise.
  • Being able to work autonomously.
  • Understanding of operations and sales processes.
  • Savvy understanding of spreadsheets and formulas.

Salary:
$70, $80,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
