The CPC team is responsible for convening court ordered conferences with key stakeholders when Child Safety is seeking a protection order from the court in relation to a child deemed to be at risk.

These conferences give the parents of the child an opportunity to meet with Child Safety to discuss this protection order.

Lawyers and other stakeholders are also often present.

During a conference, a Conference Convenor facilitates constructive discussion and problem solving in accordance with alternative dispute resolution (ADR) principles.

The CPC team is part of the DRB which assists the community to manage its disputes more effectively, and often a diversionary option from having to go to court.
