Overview


Our government client is seeking an experienced Change Manager with a background in business technology transformation to lead the conversation around an important and exciting project that will significantly improve the manner in which the organisation services its client base.

With a focus on maximising uptake and ensuring compliance (whilst mitigating risk) you will be part of an extremely supportive and collaborative team who are working on implementing this new platform.

Primary Purpose of the Position

Key accountabilities/responsibilities

Change Management

  • Accountable for development and facilitating the engagement and approval of the change strategy/approach for allocated projects with an intention to optimise adoption and embedment of the change. Work with the GM Business Owners, key stakeholders and project team to identify and assess impacts, assess organisational readiness and develop adoption and transition plans containing all necessary activities to engage and embed the business to new ways of working.
  • Management and delivery of the Change plan working with change support areas such as communications, learning, customer experience and human resources as required to maximise adoption of the change.
  • Assess organisational readiness prior to Go Live and develop transition plans containing all necessary activities to migrate the business to new ways of working.
  • Managing and monitoring the business impact, implementing reinforcement strategies to support benefits realisation.
  • Provide input into project reporting on a regular (monthly at a minimum) basis.
  • Work with the designated Communications resource to support the design, development, delivery and management of communications to achieve consistent messaging.
  • Consult and coach portfolio project teams on change management.
Planning & Coordination

  • Facilitate the Change planning process with relevant stakeholders and coordinate input from various change partnership areas as required.
Relationship Management

  • Strong team collaboration both within the Project team, with stakeholders and the overall Change Practice.
  • Develop strong relationships with representatives from Communications, Human resources, Customer Experience, and Learning.
  • Influence others to move toward a common vision or goal
  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists working with the project manager to highlight any Change resource challenges and influence other areas to achieve positive issue resolution
Project Governance

  • Responsible for the creation, management and monitoring of the Benefits Realisation Plan in conjunction with the Business Owner.
  • Create and manage the input, collation and output of the change management reporting systems for delegated projects, including provide regular and ad hoc reports to satisfy individual project, portfolio, or Executive/Senior Leadership requirements.
  • Capture data and define and measure success metrics, and report to and project stakeholders on monitoring change progress and reporting of issues or roadblocks.
  • Facilitate change management activities with crossfunctional team members and stakeholders to understand and ensure adoption of the business change and or transformation.
Risk Management

  • Identify and analyse change risks associated with the project.
  • Prepare appropriate risk mitigation tactics and identify and manage anticipated resistance to change.
Essential Criteria

  • At least 57 years' experience working on processbased change projects (technology focus is an advantage)
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Tertiary level qualifications at degree level in business management or related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience acquired through extensive experience.
  • Change management certification or designation essential.
  • Highly developed collaborative and partnering approach to stakeholder management.
