    WorkSafe is looking for senior inspectors/investigators to be part of our team based in Cannington.

    About the role

    WorkSafe WA plays an integral role in upholding healthy and safe workplaces in Western Australia, reducing workplace incidents to ensure workers return home safety every day. We drive workplace change through education, specialist advice and enforcement.

    As a WorkSafe Senior Inspector/investigator, you will be responsible for conducting the full investigative process, including:

    • Interpreting and applying relevant legislation and policy;
    • Collecting, appraising and compiling evidence for legal proceedings and criminal prosecutions; and
    • Producing high quality investigative written material.

    You will possess high-level analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information, using best practice and contemporary investigative techniques and standards. You will be responsible for completing efficient and timely investigations, resulting in briefs of evidence for matters prosecuted in the relevant Courts or preparing reports recommending safety outcomes.

    With investigative skills and experience in a regulatory, safety or general industry, you will be responsible for:

    • Conducting highly investigative interviews with excellent evidentiary collection, assessment and presentation skills;
    • Delivering results within a team in a changing environment;
    • Assessing any possible breaches of relevant safety legislation; and
    • Maintaining contemporary knowledge of relevant legislation, WorkSafe requirements and investigative procedures and policies.

    It would be advantageous if you have demonstrated practical experience in the application of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2020 or equivalent relevant legislation, including knowledge of any industry-based workplace health and safety practices.

    Our team members come from a wide range of professions and with no two days ever being the same, problem solving comes naturally to us. We are looking for people who share a passion for serving the community, have practical knowledge and experience in work health and safety, and excellent communication and organisational skills.

    So, if you are driven by a commitment to ensuring safe work environments, with a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of work health and safety laws, and the ability to enforce compliance with a collaborative approach, then this job is for you
