Primary Objectives:


  • To assist efficiently with all clinical treatment as needed
  • To help support patient care goals and educates patients in dental health issues
  • To provide exceptional customer service, anticipating patient's needs and care requirements
  • To provide administrative support to the front office when needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Clinical treatment
  • Basic clinical chairside assisting including correct usage of suction, passing instruments and materials, mixing techniques, and knowledge of instrumentation.
  • Possess knowledge and skills in:


  • Advanced chairside assisting

  • Oral surgery
  • Patient comfort
  • Anticipation and preparation
  • Clean & prepare treatment room
  • Clean & prepare treatment room in accordance with infection control and practice protocols
  • Prepare treatment room for each procedure
  • Patient greeting
  • Accompany patient into treatment rooms
  • Greet patient by with a smile and address them by name
  • Convey warmth during interactions with patients
  • Complete patient charts accurately
  • Materials
  • Possess a thorough and accurate working knowledge of all materials for all procedures
  • Prepare and deliver materials at dentist's direction
  • Anticipate patients' needs by either reviewing patient file or appointment book or by observation of current treatment
  • Contaminated instruments
  • Process contaminated instruments & equipment in accordance with practice protocols quickly
  • X-rays
  • Develop, mount, label and file patients' xrays adequately and accurately
  • Supplies
  • Maintain an appropriate level of supplies in treatment room
  • Monitor and order supplies as required

  • Previous experience as a dental assistant may be required

Business Experience

Preferred

  • Strong organisational skills, specifically administrative and time management
  • Cert III in Dental Assisting
  • First aid certificate / qualifications

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 30 per week


Salary:
$27.00 per hour
