If you have compassion, the ability to work without judgment and share our belief in recovery, then join us and open up your career in human services.

Your opportunity
This is a part time opportunity, working 26.6 hours per week.

Working as a Support Worker at our Logan House residential alcohol and drug treatment centre, you'll provide support and supervision to clients undertaking the six-week treatment program.

_What does this mean? _
Well,. you'll help to keep our clients emotionally safe while supporting and monitoring activities of the program. You'll assist with medications, support guided meditations, and provide general help and support to clients during the day.

This is a role that has a big impact.

You'll witness the hard work our clients put in to change their lives for the better, helping them to learn new skills, to adapt and to set goals and achieve them.

You'll get experience straight up and hands on - of the work, the clients and what it takes to build a successful and rewarding career.

All while being supported and guided by a team of humble humans who really care.

You'll know that you're leaving a positive wake when:

  • You're able to manage the structured activities of the program during the evenings and ensure smooth hand over to the daytime staff.
  • You've built positive relationships with your clients, enabling them to stick to the program and make positive change in their lives.
  • You're able to navigate the challenges of new situations, creating solutions and adapting on the spot.

What you'll bring

As this is a casual role, we can't always guarantee the number of shifts you might get, so you'll need to be comfortable being called in as needed.

In terms of the role itself, it's not as much about the technical expertise nor the number of degrees you have, it's about who you are as a person and what you bring:

  • You'll need to know how to set and maintain good boundaries
  • with clients, colleagues and yourself. What we do isn't always easy, so taking care of yourself is most important
  • You'll be comfortable working to a structure, but have the capacity to be flexible and navigate the unexpected.
  • You'll be able to think on your feet, problem solve and handle pressure.
  • You'll have a genuine desire to support people in making a positive difference to their lives.
  • You'll be reliable, resilient, persistent and nonjudgmental.
And importantly, you'll live and breathe our values, which means:

  • You are humble, human and full of hope.
  • You show up and share.
  • You ask: Why not? And what's next?
  • You leave a positive wake.

We believe that, through these values, we do our best work - for each other, for clients, and for the communities we work in.

And it's a promise we make to you about the kind of experience you will have working for us.

Why work for Lives Lived Well?
It's about people, purpose, impact and growth.

We think you'll love working with our talented people across services that are as diverse as the communities we work in.

We've grown significantly, with no plans of slowing you a real opportunity to go further

At Lives Lived Well, you can:

  • Grow as a person and as a professional, extending your knowledge and skills beyond the norm.
  • Be trusted with autonomy in a supportive, respectful environment.
  • Make a lasting difference on clients, the community and a team that cares as much as you.
But it's more than that.

You'll join a curious team that thinks differently and seeks new ways. We look to the evidence. We explore new ideas.

And when we reach "better", we ask, "What's next?" Which means you'll need to be comfortable with change - you'll enjoy variety, the agility, and the opportunity to achieve more, faster.

And while you support others, we'll support you, including access to a range of training opportunities and wellness activities along with the opportunity to explore other careers at Lives Lived Well.

The salary range for this position is $34.04 to $36.50 per hour plus access to salary packaging and an additional 5 days of wellbeing leave (pro rata for part timers).
