The Client

Our Client is a department of the Government of Australia charged with the responsibility to defend Australia and its national interests.


The Role

Our client seeks to engage the services of a Procurement Support Officer (Advanced Practitioner) to assist the department in supporting + accurately administering ICT procurement activities within the organisation.


This includes:

  • Drafting + preparing procurement document packs
- obtaining necessary approvals in accordance with Departmental procurement policy and legislation
- liaising with relevant staff and procurement stakeholders to efficiently cooperatively progress procurement activities
- maintaining an overview of concurrent procurement activities and appropriately forecasting and prioritising work effort.
- undertake both simple + complex ICT procurement activities to support deliverables and projects

  • Maintaining 'dashboards' or similar artefacts to support briefing, decision making and record keeping.
  • Ensuring department staff have appropriate information + defensible audit records regarding current and historic procurement activities.

About You

  • Minimum of Procurement & Contract Management Diploma or related Degree required or demonstrated experience as a Procurement Officer, or similar role
  • Demonstrated experience delivering procurement support to executive level staff in a Government Department;
  • Formally trained in, or has practical experience in the Defence Change Management Process
  • Experience with IT Service Management Frameworks, such as ITIL
  • Experience in Software Asset Management
  • Previous Defence experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.
  • Sound skills in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Highly effective written skills to support documentation and communication requirements
