This position forms part of the Hilton Accounting & Finance Services (HAFS) Center of Excellence (CoE) team dedicated to the delivery of timely and accurate accounting, financial reporting and analysis.

This position will be responsible for financial accounting and corporate reporting of the Hilton entities in the Australasia region and be required to perform any RTR, OTC, PTP or RA duties as assigned for any one or multiple hotel(s) from a central location.

A critical aspect of the HAFS services is proper utilization of the various technology solutions.

This position is also the back up for fellow colleagues in the HAFS COE office, relieving and assisting as required.


Specific Duties

HAFS Transactional Processing:


  • Post daily banking journals
  • Prepare bank reconciliation and rectify any unreconciled items
  • Review fortnightly GP's for accuracy and timeliness of all payments making sure sufficient working capital is available for meeting payment obligations
  • Participate in end of month close activities and support the hotels in the timely delivery of financial reports
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (BSR) and follow up on open item or process adjustments
  • Prepare and process monthly Payroll Tax raising Manual EFT to enable process prior to 7th of each month
  • Prepare, process and lodge monthly BAS Submission raising Manual EFT to enable review prior to first fortnightly payment run of each month
  • Process and uploading payment files and Manual EFT to Banks for any one or more hotels
  • Comply to Hilton policies, statutory requirement, and SOX controls
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests and requirements
  • Provide a timely and responsive service to both internal and external customers
  • Support activities to enable or enhance functioning of technology solutions including DocMatrix. This includes coordination with vendor admin for any system issues
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental communication meetings and nominated training sessions and take responsibility for personal development
  • Is flexible in relation to shifts and is available to work all shifts as required
  • Relieve and/or assist fellow team members when they are on leave or require assistance
  • To perform any tasks or adhoc requests of a reasonable nature as required and requested by a supervisor or manager from time to time

Occupational Safety and Health
Team members will be accountable to their supervisor or manager for:

  • Working in a safe and healthy manner and encouraging the safe behaviour of their peers
  • Taking reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others (team members, contractors, guests, members of the public) at the Hilton Sydney
  • Keeping their work area safe, clean and tidy
  • Accepting and abiding by, the intent and instruction of the WHS policy
  • Participating in all WHS consultative meetings, emergency response rehearsals and reviews
  • The immediate reporting (to their direct supervisor) of all hazards which may cause injury, ill health or damage and to actively participate in programs undertaken to eliminate or control such hazards to the extent to which they are authorised and/or qualified
  • The immediate reporting of all incidents no matter how small to their direct supervisor
  • Undertaking all training in safe work practises, system requirements, and where necessary, retraining
  • Participate and cooperate in the rehabilitation and return to work program if injured
  • Wearing and maintaining all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the job or work environment
  • Cooperate with Hilton Sydney regarding any requirement that is enforced in the interests of health, safety and welfare at work.
