The Executive Assistant to the Director, Governance will provide accurate and efficient executive administrative support to the Director as this position is critical in supporting and partnering with the Director and broader Governance Branch Leadership team.


The Executive Assistant to the Director, Governance is responsible for working with fellow team members to ensure operational requirements are met, correct procedures are followed and the service is developed to ensure continuous improvement within a service excellence environment.


The incumbent completes all activities in a professional, efficient, confidential and courteous manner within a political, complex and multi-faceted organisational environment.


What you will bring

  • Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
  • Substantial experience in an administrative support delivery function with the ability to anticipate support needs and multitask within a fastpaced, high volume and multifaceted business environment.
  • High level communication skills with the ability to communicate and liaise confidently all levels of the business.
  • Sound experience to review and prepare documents to a high quality level which are fit for business purpose.
  • Highly developed customer service skills and demonstrated ability to be professional, diplomatic, assertive, discrete, courteous and maintain confidentiality.
  • Sound technology skills across the full suite of programs, the ability to learn and adapt to new technology systems and actively educate and support other users.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment supporting productive relationships with people at all levels.
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain sound systems and processes to drive efficiency across administrative functions whilst leading and educating others within a continuous improvement environment.
  • Proven ability to research and source relevant information, interpret and formulate recommendations or provide advice and independently participate in project related work.
