Job Description About this opportunity**Reporting to the Site Manager, this role is a key member of the Site Leadership team, based in Altona. The Logistics Manager role will be a hands-on operational role, with responsibility for running the logistics aspects of the site such as: Incoming material, transport, inventory control, spare part inventory management and outbound logistics.


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • In partnership with the Site Manager, set up of effective process and controls for receipt of raw materials at site level, managing internal movements to optimise raw materials for quality and yield
  • Liaising with Cleanaway Waste Management on receipt of raw materials, the Logistics Manager will establish and maintain effective and transparent reporting for all parties
  • Management of outbound, finished goods to Asahi, PACT and other offtake customers, through 3PL management
  • Provide expert advice on best practice logistics and warehousing advice to Site manager, adapting a continuous improvement mindset from the outset
  • Working with internal and external parties (3PLs) to establish the highest standards of traffic management, and best practice logistics at this Greenfields site
  • Ensuring adherence to WHSE standards from implementation and throughout the ongoing operation
  • Responsibility for establishing Chain of Responsibility adherence on site, educating Operations and others involved in the Chain.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to ensure raw materials are fit for purpose, to maximise run time in Operations.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • 5 years in a similar position, or elements of the position
  • Experience working in a 24/7 Manufacturing Operation
  • Prior experience working with SAP highly desirable
  • Superior communication skills. A personable leader across all levels (from shop floor to leadership team), and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple internal & external stakeholders
  • Experienced in budget preparation and ownership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Business/Supply Chain Highly Desirable &/or


  • Bachelor of Science

  • Environmental Management
  • Electrical Tertiary or trade background
