About the Northern Centre Against Sexual Assault (Northern CASA):
Northern CASA is the regional sexual assault support service for the Northern Metropolitan region of Melbourne.

It is located on the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital Campus of Austin and also operates at a number of other sites in the region.


Northern CASA provides therapeutic services to adults and young people over the age of 12 years, who have experienced sexual assault either recently or in the past, and also to their non-offending family and friends.

NCASA provides a range of services including 24-hour crisis care for victims of recent sexual assault (18 years and over), counselling, group work, advocacy, secondary consultation and training for other professionals and community education.


About the role:


A regular day will see you:

  • Participate in the NCASA intake system, including face to face, telehealth and telephone crisis counselling
  • Provide telephone, telehealth and face to support, counselling, advocacy and group work to victim survivors of both recent and past sexual assault
  • Provide information, support and psychological education to clients, nonoffending family members and other professionals and agencies

About you:


Ideally, you'll have:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a related counselling qualification
  • High level counselling, assessment and advocacy skills, and experience in supporting victim survivors
  • A commitment to an intersectional feminist rights/advocacy model of practice
  • An excellent understanding of theory, policy and practice issues around sexual assault and family violence
