The Workshop Manager
(based in Fyshwick) is a critical role in a Major Workshop environment and is responsible for providing strong leadership and direction to a team of workshop, yard and contractor staff who work toward ensuring all equipment is repaired, serviced and maintained within budgetary requirements whilst ensuring safety above everything.

The Workshop Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to deeply understand customer demands and equipment need pipelines and establishing daily work priorities and direction for the workshop staff to meet equipment service and maintenance business requirements and priorities.


Your new role awaits

  • Provide strong leadership and direction ensuring all equipment is repaired, serviced and maintained in line with Silver Service quality standards
  • Manage and coordinate through workshop staff the outside repair of hire fleet and plant & equipment including roadworthy certificates and inspections in line with budget provisions
  • Assess equipment for best financial outcome i.e., repair or disposal
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available in good working condition.
  • Review out of service equipment lists, red line status and slowmoving assets

What you'll bring to the role

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in vehicle management, purchasing, maintenance, logistics, heavy machinery and workshop management
  • Trade or engineering qualifications in and mechanical field an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of and understanding of Fleet Management Systems as they relate to farm machinery, heavy vehicles and passenger vehicles
  • Proactive problem solver with high attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication skills, teamwork focussed, 'can do' attitude.
