Our client is a leading council that is currently undertaking a large transformation and uplift across the organisation.

After a recent restructure that have a newly created Risk & Audit Manager role available for a highly skilled and pragmatic professional.

With a collegiate culture and support designed to ensure your success this is an excellent senior position where you will have genuine impact and ownership from design to implementation.

Reporting to the General Manager this is a business critical role with the primary responsibilities including:

Manage the risk based internal audit program in conjunction with the internal auditor
Provide strategic advice the GM & ELT on programs across Audit; Risk; Security & Governance frameworks to ensure fit for purpose processes are embedded across the organisation.
Build a proactive riskawareness culture
Manage and review the insurance portfolio and oversee BCM Framework and planning processes.
Report to the Executive Leadership Team and Audit & Risk Committee

Qualifications & Experience

5 years' postgraduate experience in risk, compliance and/or audit roles
Experience in the design and implementation of Risk & Audit frameworks in complex organisations (outside of financial services)
Exceptional organisational skills, stakeholder management, critical thinking and problem solving skills
Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, law or related fields
Government experience would be considered advantageous

In return you will be working in a hybrid model work environment that will offer up to 14 hours flexitime.
