About the role:


Provide educational leadership to staff and students across the department programs and support the operational activities including quality assurance, student and staff issues, student progress and recruitment of students and staff.


Duties:


  • Coordinate courses relevant to the department as delegated by the Manager.
  • Provide educational leadership at a high level for staff and students within the program/s on educational related matters.
  • Work with the Manager and Learning and Teaching department to show improvements to student outcomes and Lead Teacher development
  • Oversee curriculum redesign for the future in line with industry and strategic needs and recommend new innovations to ensure curriculum is current and of a high quality.
  • Conduct performance discussions for Lead Teachers and teaching staff where required
  • Develop a professional development plan for staff in line with future needs of the department.
  • Liaise with the International Office in relation to inbound and outbound overseas students.

Skills and experience required:


Mandatory:


  • A degree or Diploma relevant to courses offered within the department.
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A)
  • Completion of a course of teacher training accredited at diploma which includes supervised teaching practice in an adult learning environment and studies in adult teaching methodology (Australian Qualification Framework Level 6).
  • 5 years' experience working within the relevant industry.
  • A sound knowledge of the diverse areas within the Business, Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics department and a background in an industry related to the departments courses.

Desirable:


  • Knowledge of current issues in higher education and vocational education and training particularly as they relate to the areas taught within the school
