Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers.

The Simple Credit Crew has end-to-end responsibility for the Commonwealth Bank Simple Credit business.

We consist of squads that look after the development of simple credit propositions, acquisition and growth of our portfolio and end-to-end process improvement.

Reporting directly to the Crew Lead, this role is responsible for leading a squad who are innovating and developing the Simple Credit business propositions (products and/or features) that support our aspirational business growth by providing customers a simple and safe pathway to credit.

You will play a critical role in shaping product offerings, enhancing customer experiences and driving business development, whilst also being responsible for ensuring changes are safely executed and risk outcomes are met.


Key responsibilities will include

  • Lead the endtoend business and product development process, from opportunity identification and sizing, concept development to launch, ensuring products are designed to meet market demands.
  • Lead and define the vision and roadmap for the product in partnership with business stakeholders and product management to maximise delivery of business value and support benefits realisation.
  • Accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions and resolving escalations.
  • Act as the voice of the business and translate this for the team.
  • Drive project inception and exploration to ensure alignment of product strategy.
  • Formulate hypotheses to validate customer problems and define clear learning objectives that will inform product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.
  • Identify, articulate and manage risks and compliance across streams of work.
  • Incorporate design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
  • Lead and develop the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap.
  • Lead the Squad daytoday to deliver change and lifecycle activities.
  • Maintain a well prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
  • Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.
  • Manage the Squad's performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.
  • Release prototypes and iterate a product that meets customer needs and achieves the crew's goals.

We want to hear from you if you have

  • Experience in business and product development, including building innovative customer experiences
  • Experience in delivering strong outcomes in an Agile environment
  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders on strategic priorities
  • Advanced ability to drive multiple initiatives concurrently and execute on a roadmap of initiatives
  • Advanced communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels of the business
  • Proven problem solving skills coupled with a strong ability be customer centric and think differently about strategies to grow the portfolio
  • Strong commercial acumen and decision making skills
  • Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities, upcoming due dates and prioritisation decisions when required
  • Strong credit product knowledge is preferred, experience managing banking products highly regarded
  • Ability to think analytically and use data and insights to make decisions
  • Tertiary qualification in a Business / Commerce Degree Preferred
