  About the role

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Collect samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
• Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
• Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing

About you

• To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
• Show a high level of empathy, communication, and customer service
• Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
• A willingness and confidence to work independently in a solo clinic
• Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B and COVID19 are a requirement of this role
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Certificate III in Pathology Collection would be advantageous

Pathology Specimen Collector to join our Hunter Collections team and grow your career with Laverty Pathology, part of Healius, a progressive healthcare leader. The Pathology Collector role is offered on a permanent part time basis min 20 p/w, in various shifts between the hours of 7am to 530pm Monday to Sunday, on call roster and also Public Holidays as required. All of our new Pathology Collectors will receive full training, join a friendly and professional team dedicated to patient care and a company committed to excellence for our patients, our doctors and our people. Training will start in July 2023.
About the role

• Your Duties will include:
• Collection of blood and other samples from patients;
• Packaging and dispatching of specimens;
• Stock maintenance;
• Greeting patients and assisting with appointments and requests;
• Receiving and receipting of patient account payments;
• Providing advice on special requirements, preparation and instructions for tests; and
• Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.

• VPD evidence such as Hepatitis B and Covid19 are a requirement of this role
• A current Australian Open Driver's Licence may be required; and
• Demonstrated experience & knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Cert III in Pathology would be advantageous.
