We are currently expanding our operation into Australia with the establishment of our new subsidiary Taylor Airey Pty Ltd.


The Opportunity - Principal (Rolling Stock)
This role currently reports directly to the Company's Board, and is responsible for leading the delivery of Taylor Airey's rolling stock engineering projects in Australia, building its brand by providing high quality service to its clients: Key activities will include:
Assignment Delivery

  • Provide engineering and project management services to clients in Australia as detailed in agreed contracts. This role is expected to focus on providing advice with regard to rolling stock maintenance regimes, practices, and organisation, new train procurement and rolling stock modification, refurbishment and upgrade projects.
  • Provide support to Taylor Airey Limited in the UK on an adhoc basis
Market Development

  • Establish and maintain a professional network to provide awareness of the Company and support the development of business opportunities
  • Develop proposals to undertake future work and in contract negotiations with clients
Recruitment

  • Support the activities of the Company in the recruitment of a small number of expert transportation consultants to lead project delivery
  • Support the development of a graduate recruitment process with a view to the recruitment of a small number of graduates to assist with the delivery of projects
Management Systems

  • Maintain Taylor Airey's ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • Maintain Taylor Airey's ISO14001 Environmental Management System, and ensure the ongoing compliance with all applicable Australian environmental legislation
  • Maintain Taylor Airey's ISO45001 Safety Management System, and ensure the ongoing compliance with all applicable Australian safety legislation
  • Undertake other activities as necessary to support the Board of Directors with running and growing the business
About You

You will be able to demonstrate the following key attributes and skills:

  • A Chartered Professional Engineer, registered with Engineers Australia or equivalent
  • Significant experience in the field of rolling stock engineering and consultancy, including the procurement and introduction of new rolling stock, and the maintenance of rolling stock
  • Demonstrate commitment to the role and show a desire to develop the business in accordance with Taylor Airey's values
  • Ability to develop and maintain a professional network that will provide business opportunities for Taylor Airey Pty Ltd
  • Adopt a professional attitude at all times
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, handbooks and other relevant documents
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain business management systems

Location and Hours
Based in Brisbane, Queensland with extended periods working in other Australian states. Potential opportunities for overseas travel will exist.

The position is for a permanent full time role working 40 hours per week


The Package


A competitive basic salary in excess of $150,000 per annum (plus superannuation), performance related bonus, leave entitlement that increases with service and access to further training and development.
