About the role
:

Exciting opportunity for a driven Work Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager to join Royal Rehab.

The Work Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager will be responsible for the management, planning and implementation of Work Health Safety (WHS) throughout the organisation.

The role acts as a consultant to all levels of staff, promoting WHS, increasing awareness and ensuring compliance with legislation and safe workplace obligations.


The Work Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager will work collaboratively with the Quality, Safety and Risk Team and Human Resources.

Together you will drive organisation-wide initiatives that contribute to a culture where safety and wellness are embraced and embedded in every aspect of work underpinning the delivery of quality care.

Although based in Milsons Point, the role requires occasional travel across NSW, QLD and VIC.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Assist in implementing and maintaining onsite early intervention and workplace rehabilitation procedures aimed at minimising impacts on employees and the organisation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies for enabling a high performing health and safety culture aimed at achieving zero harm in the workplace.
  • Engage frontline staff and managers to embed work health and safety strategies and build a positive safety culture.
  • Partner with Business Units to provide advice and support to understand both their safe workplace obligations and the frameworks, tools and legislation to support them and their teams to mitigate physical and psychological risks.
  • Assist in the implementation and continual improvement of WHS & rehabilitation programs, policies, procedures to ensure proactive regulatory and statutory compliance.
  • Strengthen management capability in WHS and rehabilitation by providing advice, guidance and support.
  • Regularly review incident and claims data to identify trends or issues within the organisation.
  • Develop strategies based on incident and claims data trends to manage organisation wide risks.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to the senior managers and Executive measuring performance against KPIs such as incident trends, reducing injuries and education.
  • Develop and facilitate targeted WHS education and awareness sessions that focus on key organisational WHS risks.

Essential Criteria:


  • Recognised qualifications in Work Health Safety (WHS) and/or significant highlevel experience in this specialist area.
  • Demonstrated abilities in implementing work, health and safety strategies and initiatives to positively influence and drive outcomes across an organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic management to achieve work, health and safety outcomes and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Demonstrate high level oral and written communication, interpersonal and consultation skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under broad supervision and to effectively selfmanage the daytoday workflow of the position.
  • Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to effectively manage time to prioritise competing demands.
