SC 1:

Demonstrate a high-level capacity and experience to triage and provide short-term wellbeing intervention, with knowledge and understanding of relevant approaches, research, and policies to build student wellbeing and internal capacity of young people.


SC 2:

Experience in the delivery of proactive/preventative programs, groups, and strategies where student wellbeing is considered through the lens of health and wellbeing promotion within a school environment - improving wellbeing for students at all stages of the wellbeing continuum.


SC 3:

Demonstrated ability to provide high quality guidance and leadership of others within an allied health team environment, where collaboration and teamwork improves professional practice and ensures positive outcomes are achieved for young people.


SC 4:

Experience in the area of staff development and capacity building of staff external to the student Wellbeing Team, such as empowering and providing professional development for Teachers and Classroom Education Support staff.


SC 5:

Highly developed collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong demonstration to connect and communicate with staff across a multi-campus school to improve practice and outcomes for all students.

ROLE:

Northern Bay College is in a unique and exciting position to be able to employ 5 Campus Wellbeing Leaders into the staffing group


The core purpose of the Campus Wellbeing Leader is to curate a campus wellbeing culture that is inclusive, engaging and proactive; which is strongly aligned to College Wide SWPBS and prevention focussed intervention.

And to develop campus wellbeing and broader campus staff capacity through upskilling.


The Campus Wellbeing Leader works under the direction of the College Wellbeing Leader and the Campus Principal Team to lead and deliver high quality and effective wellbeing supports for students and families on campus.

The Campus Wellbeing Leader is responsible for leading a campus-based team of wellbeing staff, which may include a Campus Wellbeing Coordinator, Inclusion Worker and Chaplain.

Alongside this work, the Campus Wellbeing Leader will work closely with the Campus Wellbeing Leaders across the College, and with the Mental Health Practitioner and Complex Case Liaison to ensure positive student outcomes and engagement.


KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:


  • Improve & support student mental health and wellbeing through short term intervention.
  • Model and lead proactive and preventative campus strategies and interventions relating to student engagement and wellbeing.
  • Triage and direct student wellbeing matters to appropriate staff within the student wellbeing team or to external services as appropriate.
  • Development of staff capacity and professional support; inclusive of the Campus Wellbeing Team and a contribution to a College focus on classroom ES professional growth.

Responsibilities:


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provide professional level wellbeing support / therapeutic intervention for specific students. This may involve working 1:1 with students, or in small group programs.
  • Consider student interventions and work collaboratively with the MHWL and ISC team, to support the implementation of relevant adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the campus Inclusion Support Coordinator to coordinate the development of specialist reports for identified students provided by the wellbeing team.
  • Ensure all students in OOHC are supported with IEP¿s and SSG¿s on termly basis. Chair SSG¿s for students in OOHC, with highly complex needs.
  • With support and guidance from the College Wellbeing Leader, support the College Wellbeing Team to respond to critical incidents that occur.
  • Work under the direction of the College Wellbeing Leader, and engage in regular supervision sessions to continually grow professional skills and capacity.
  • Work collaboratively with the College Wellbeing Leader and the Senior Campus Wellbeing Coordinator Team
  • Lead the campus wellbeing team in collection of qualitative and quantitative wellbeing data, and provide guidance on strategies and supports to create positive change.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of Student voice groups and teams at NBC (eg. SRC).
  • Maintain appropriate and professional documentation for contact with students. Includes the use of PROTECT documentation, NBC case notes and other relevant DET templates.
  • Ensure processes are being followed and reported appropriately.
  • Attend campus leadership meetings where appropriate. Inclusive of termly meeting to report on Campus wellbeing data.
  • Chair the Student Engagement and Wellbeing (SEW) team meetings on campus.
