About the role


Reporting to the Director - International Trade & Strategy, you will be responsible to oversee the Charting and Shipping within our Lithium division.


Chartering

  • Responsible for chartering activities including collecting freight rates, vetting of vessel, negotiations of charter party terms, working on loading sequence and plan and obtaining relevant internal and external approval
  • Provide market intelligent in freight and shipping and providing shipping solutions to meet the export targets
  • Identify and establish cooperation with ship owners
  • Provide freight forecast and budgeting
  • Attending to all AMSA approval requirements and enquiries including moisture control procedures, export licence to ensure compliance in export regulations
  • Work in collaboration with intracompany departments such as the Mine planning and logistics team on cargo readiness, Accounts payable for Freight payment and Finance team for Freight forecast and accruals and other freight and shipping information required
  • Engaging with external parties such as shipbrokers, shipping agents and marine surveyors to ensure smooth export shipping and operations and meeting the export targets

Shipping

  • Prepare and post shipping schedule on weekly basis
  • Responsible for all export documents and meeting AMSA and export approval requirements
  • Responsible for coordinating sampling and loading and discharge operations for both load and discharge ports
  • Responsible for coordinating for all Custom clearance, discharge operations, and local logistic in China and other destinations
  • Coordinate with production team on grade/parcel loading and cargo readiness for shipments
  • Check and approve freight invoice and arrange for on time freight payment, including coordinating with the finance team and getting necessary approval for payment
  • Responsible for Laytime calculations and invoicing to relevant parties for settlements
  • Coordinate with the sales support team for sales requirements to ensure smooth loading and discharge operations
  • Liaise with surveys and shipping agents to ensure loading and discharging operations are smooth and in order and in accordance to instructions
  • Confirmation of other shipping related invoices including invoices for draft survey, cargo inspection and sampling and testing
