About the Role


We are growing and have an exciting role for a strategic and experienced leader to join our Human Resources team.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager People & Culture, this role leads a team of skilled professionals.

Based in either Brisbane (Wacol) or Sydney (Chipping Norton), you will be responsible for a high performing, customer focused HR Shared Solutions team (Rewards and Remuneration, Policy and Programs, Systems and Technology, Payroll and Workforce Reporting) that provides streamlined support to the business and its employees across Australia and New Zealand.

To be successful in the role, you will have a history of driving business performance through people. Ideally, you will have broad leadership experience driving shared services across the full employment lifecycle.

Specialist expertise in one or more technical areas such as Remuneration Design, Payroll and Systems Delivery and/or Project Management is desirable.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic and operational services that support Penske's employment value proposition to attract, retain and motivate talent.
  • Design and deploy policies, guidelines and programs aligned with Penske business strategies and contemporary employment practices.
  • Lead Penske's Total Remuneration, incentives, and benefits strategy. Regular external benchmarking and internal evaluation to ensure ongoing program design effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient delivery of shared service operations including payroll and benefits administration.
  • Oversee the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and adoption of innovative HR tools and technology to ensure user centric and effective employee information management, analysis and workforce reporting.
  • Lead, coach and develop the HR Shared Solutions and Payroll team members
  • Oversee HR's Compliance & Vendor Management Practices

About You

  • Irrespective of formal experience, the role requires teamwork, passion, curiosity and ambition to drive improvement across a range of HR services to deliver competitive advantage through people.
  • Experience leading strategy development
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in the design and deployment of impactful people solutions
  • Preferable experience in a senior policy design or reward focused position
  • Benchmarking and market analysis proficiency
  • Understanding of best practice payroll, analytics, and financial operations
  • Excellent communication
  • Strong organisational and problemsolving skills
  • Experience in managing Human Resources Management Information Systems (HRMIS)
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resource management or related field
  • At least 7 years HR generalist or specialist experience, preferably in a leadership capacity
