The role

Play a critical role in delivering a major supply chain transformation program in line with our strategic transformation agenda at David Jones.

As Program Manager overseeing our Value Chain you will be at the forefront of a major technology-heavy delivery program, orchestrating and facilitating cross-functional teams in creating and executing the transformation's vision.


A critical strategic partner to the Executive Program Sponsor and Head of Transformation, you will manage the entire program life cycle to ensure that the intended services or outcomes are provided efficiently, effectively, and in a manner that aligns with stakeholder expectations.


This fixed term contract role will suit a seasoned management expert with a strong background in transformation program management, agile working methodologies, senior stakeholder engagement, executive level communication, and a deep appreciation of technology delivery within the retail sector.


What does the role involve?

  • Lead crossfunctional teams in establishing and executing the roadmap to deliver on the program's strategic vision through agile/lean methodologies comprising working rhythms that ensure efficient and effective program delivery.
  • Act as strategic partner to the Executive Program sponsor ensuring full and expedient transparency into program performance and areas where course correction is required.
  • Provide innovative ideas to optimise program spend and accelerate benefits realisation.
  • Identify and assess risks and issues at the program level, developing mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Manage programlevel dependencies, identifying solves with mínimal impact to overall program delivery.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among team members, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor program budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
  • Collaborate with finance and relevant stakeholders to optimise resource allocation and costeffectiveness.
  • Identify and mobilise necessary resources and capabilities required for program success.
  • Navigate and resolve conflicts within the team and between stakeholders whilst maintaining a positive and productive working environnment.
  • Lead and manage change, helping teams and stakeholders to smoothly transition to new ways of working.
  • Work with crossfunction teams to ensure the availability of skilled personnel and other essential resources.

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in delivering supply chain transformations, ideally within the retail sector.
  • A strong understanding of agile/lean methodologies and crossfunctional team dynamics.
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience managing program budgets.
  • Excellent executive presence and communication as well as senior stakeholder management.
  • Proven capabilities in leading high performing program of work, characterised by individual and collective empowerment and accountability.
  • Proficient in program performance reporting and roadmap integration across value, technology, and capacity.
  • Strong risk management and problemsolving skills, including changing priorities and conflict resolution experience.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Project Management or a related field.
