Projects including Elizabeth Quay, Alkimos, Ocean Reef Marina the Australian Marine Complex, Subi East and Broome.

Role Summary:


The primary purpose of this role is to provide expert advice, guidance and support on procurement and supply chain strategies, processes and practices.

This position plays a crucial role in partnership with the Procurement and Contracts Manager, optimising procurement and supply chain functions across DevelopmentWA to drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainable practices.


The role is also accountable for analysing procurement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to the Procurement and Contracts Manager and key stakeholders to improve procurement performance.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:


Procurement Strategies and Services

  • Develop and implement, procurement strategies and action plans considering market dynamics, risk management and sustainability factors.
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to procurement and supply chain operations.

Management, Administration and Coordination

  • Design, develop and deliver procurement training requirements across DevelopmentWA
  • Identify and drive the implementation of procurement change initiatives.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Drive the analysis of market trends to identify and develop commercial insights, best practice, benchmark standards, and performance indicators.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.

About you:


  • Professional certifications within procurement field are highly desirable.
  • Proven demonstratable experience in strategic procurement with a focus on strategic sourcing, supplier management and supply chain optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management and supply chain best practices.
  • High level of interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with demonstrated leadership, relationship management and negotiation capabilities.
  • Familiarity with risk management, sustainability and corporate social responsibility principles and supply chain operations.
  • Excellent analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Strong project management skills including ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience in an organisation with similar values and ethics to DevelopmentWA.
