An exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Development Manager to join our Regional Delivery & Commercial Delivery team at Development Victoria.


Our Portfolio of projects includes the delivery of the Fitzroy Gasworks Build to Rent and Social Housing Towers, BWEZ Industrial Precinct, and the Bendigo Gov Hub.


About the role


We are seeking an experienced Assistant Development Manager to support the delivery of several large-scale commercial and residential development projects.

Reporting to a team of experienced development professionals, you will be a major contributor to all phases of the project lifecycle.

A key to success in this role will be your excellent time management skills, proactive approach and desire to take charge of the project tasks that you are responsible for.

  • Working on DVs own development projects, exposure to property development, design development, stakeholder management and construction delivery
  • Work with experienced team members to who have experience in project management, development and delivering design excellence.
  • Exposure to projects with aspirational sustainability goals and delivery innovation such as build to rent
  • Involved in varied and interesting project focused task
As an Assistant Development Manager, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Contributing to the development, management and delivery of project strategies.
  • Preparation and administration of procurement processes for engaging planning, design and civil works contractors and consultants.
  • Supporting the team with a range of contractual and financial activities, including the preparation and management of contracts, invoice processing and project budgets.
  • Assisting with the preparation of project, consultant and contractor agreements that are aligned to the project strategy.
  • Preparation and formatting of internal and outgoing correspondence, including but not limited to: board papers, agendas, minutes, memos and other project documentation as required.
  • Arranging and participating in project meetings, Project Steering Groups and stakeholder forums.
  • Regular liaison with contractors, consultants and authorities such as local Council officers.

Desired Skills and Experience:


About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in property development, construction, civil or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a property related role.
  • Prior experience in dealing with engineering and design consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Experience in project administration including meeting coordination, preparing reports and processing invoices and contracts.
  • Exposure to the preparation and analysis of financial feasibility studies, budgeting and cost monitoring.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) and Adobe Pro, or PDFbased programs.
  • Strong timemanagement skills with an ability to work concurrently across a number of tasks or projects whilst ensuring deadlines are met and milestones are achieved.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of service authority requirements and Government processes is an advantage.
