What the role will offer you


In this role you will consult, develop and integrate a Cultural Intelligence Framework across the Corporation to strengthen and deepen our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, people and communities.


The Aboriginal Cultural Intelligence Framework will provide the scaffolding required to uplift the organisations cultural intelligence to embed the objectives and deliverable of our Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow (YTT) Aboriginal Engagement Strategy and the Corporations Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

The Cultural Intelligence Framework will enable us to work effectively across the whole organisation.


What you'll do

  • Lead the development of the Aboriginal Cultural Intelligence Framework utilising change management principals and associated tools to ensure successful delivery of projects
  • Lead the design and delivery of a Cultural Intelligence program with specialised training for Senior Leaders and Managers who manage and/or interface with Aboriginal employees and communities
  • Establish, manage, and support change management stakeholder networks, associated with the Aboriginal Cultural Intelligence Framework
  • Engage and coach internal stakeholders in relation to the coordination and management of the Aboriginal Cultural Intelligence Framework
  • Engage and educate the organisation to increase the capacity in cultural intelligence across the Corporation
  • Lead and develop partnership opportunities and promote Water Corporation's commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Design, develop and implement projects to meet objectives for a number of Corporate strategies, including YTT, RAP and Thrive 2035

Your skills and experience:

There are a few things we'll look for in your CV:

  • This position is pursuant of Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the occupant of this position must be of Australian Aboriginal descent
  • Substantial experience and knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history and impacts of past and present policies
  • Experience in consultation, guiding and influencing key stakeholders through a change journey
  • Substantial experience with leading the implementation of organisational programs of change in a large commercial organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders.
  • Passion and drive to champion Aboriginal advancement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence outcomes with clear and consistent messaging and expectations aligned to the Corporation culture
