The Company


This leading food manufacturing business is experiencing strong growth & demand for their products and is investing in significant growth both across people and process.

As the Operations Manager you will lead one of their largest sites with over 300 people based in the Gold Coast with full P&L responsibility.


The Role

As Operations Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Support and lead an operations-based team across production, maintenance, warehouse & dispatch & safety to achieve/exceed KPI's and deliver on productivity targets and operational improvement.
  • Educate, coach, and facilitate operational expectations, lead change initiatives through the leadership team to deliver on all operational KPIs.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operations systems, training programs, ensuring staff structures and labour plans are optimised and meet the needs of the business.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans for the operation, encompassing all functions including targeted and measurable KPI's.
  • Lead and coach the team in operational improvements across Health and Safety, Quality, Maintenance and Production functions.
  • Report on metrics (KPI's) as well as instilling understanding of metrics across the group to develop a performancebased culture.
  • Investigate and develop solutions with the site leadership group for operational issues across the site.

Your Background
In order to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Extensive operations / production leadership experience, responsible for leading large manufacturing teams in a complex manufacturing environment. Experience in the FMCG industry will be highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in developing and building strong leadership groups within a manufacturing plant leading to positive change.
  • Strong continuous improvement background with a good grasp of sophisticated continuous improvement methodologies such as LEAN / Six Sigma and 5Y problemsolving tools.
  • Good commercial acumen, able to understand and manage finances with the ability to identify the key cost drivers in manufacturing plant.
