Facilities Management plans, develops and manages the University's physical environment and specialist soft services across the UniSQ locations, in support of the University's mission and goals.


Who you are


UniSQ's Facilities Management team is seeking an experienced Maintenance Officer who can work on both a scheduled and reactive basis, while also considering the work more broadly to assist with service improvement initiatives.

As Maintenance Officer, you will be required to familiarise yourself with the strategic goals of the University and consider how your area of responsibility can contribute to the attainment of those goals.

What you'll do


The Maintenance Officer will work closely with the Team Leader (Grounds Maintenance) and Manager (Environment and Grounds) to deliver professional, high-quality hard and soft landscaping maintenance of the University estate.

The Maintenance Officer will also be responsible for ensuring appropriate standards of grounds maintenance are met, and for delivering services in an environment where safety, quality and sustainability are critical requirements.


The Maintenance Officer will be expected to work on both a scheduled and reactive basis, while also considering the work more broadly to assist with service improvement initiatives.


What will help you succeed

  • A current trade certificate (II or III) relevant to the Facilities Management function or extensive experience (5 years or more) in grounds maintenance in an institutional environment, or a combination of both education and experience;
  • Currently have Manual Qld Drivers Licence, Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Licence (ACDC) and Chainsaw Level 1 and/or 2;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to strive to exceed performance expectations by identifying better ways of working or opportunities to contribute to the work of others whilst managing a high and constant workload and achieve agreed outcomes.

Total remuneration range $77,874 to $82,724 pa (includes salary range of $65,800 to $69,898 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
