About the Scholarship

The Space Technology and Industry Institute (STII) located at Swinburne University of Technology (SUT) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to undertake a PhD in the exciting and rapidly growing field of space vehicle development and manufacturing.


  • Project title: Development Additive Manufacturing Processes for Space Vehicle Components_


These unique projects will provide a collaborating experience with global academic institutions to deliver novel research as well as experience developing technologies for the Australian and international space vehicle manufacturing industry.


About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor degree honours and/or a research master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Enthusiastic and selfmotivated person who meets the academic requirements for enrolment for the PhD degree at Swinburne University of Technology.
  • Experience in contributing to a complex scientific or engineering project that required topic proposal, performance validation and detailed documentation
  • Knowledge of the correlation between materials and/or manufacturing processes to space vehicle component performance
  • Ability to build positive relationships and contribute to technical outcomes in crossfunctional and crosscultural teams
