Location - 6 Parramatta Square, Parramatta

Employment type - Ongoing Full-Time role

Salary - $101,947 pa - $112,849 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading**
Your role

You will be responsible for:

  • Data development, analysis, interpretation and reporting activities that assist DCJ to fulfil its service delivery objectives, in line with NSW Government reforms and legislative requirements.
  • Progressing the development and improvement of national indicators that compare performance across Australian jurisdictions.
  • Briefing executive and other stakeholders on issues related to national reporting and the performance of NSW compared to other jurisdictions.
  • Updating reports and dashboards that present data on the performance of DCJ for internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do

You will:

  • Undertake extraction, analysis, interpretation, and reporting on data from external and internal data sets to inform service delivery planning and resource allocation, measurement of client outcomes, organisational performance reporting and the progress of reforms.
  • Undertake data extraction and analysis to inform service delivery practice and facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of performance measures, tools and governance processes to improve business systems/ processes and workflows, and enhance organisational capability.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of core internal and external data sets to meet the analysis and reporting needs of the organisation.
  • Participate in proactive initiatives that identify issues with quality and consistency of data collected and held by DCJ and its partner agencies to reduce potential limitations and ensure the useability of the data for analysis and reporting.
  • Provide technical support, tools, advice and skills development to district and program management staff to improve organisational capability in analysing and understanding data
  • Provide proactive and evidencebased advice to the Manager and Director to ensure that business unit matters which impact current business and future decisionmaking are fully considered. Work with team members to enhance capabilities and provide 2way feedback on activities.

What we're looking for
The Analyst requires the following in addition to role description capabilities:

  • A tertiary qualification in a social science or similar field that includes data analysis and statistics.
  • Welldeveloped skills in analysis and reporting of corporate data.
  • Demonstrated experience in drawing insights through data and data analysis and presenting results tailored to the targeted audience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people within the organisation.
  • Knowledge of data presentation tools such as Tableau will be an advantage.
  • A detailed knowledge of statistical methods and programming languages is not required.


This role also requires a current Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 upon appointment.
