Where you come in:


In this part-time, maximum-term position (30.4 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, through to July 2024) based in Doveton, you'll work with families with children 0-5 years of age in our Play2Learn program.

As part of our Children and Parenting Team, you'll report to our Team Leader.

You will make an impact by:

  • Building family capacity by using partnership, outcomes based, strengths' perspective and client-centred approaches
  • Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required, providing appropriate information, support and referrals
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver the Play2Learn program
  • Promoting positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting, and child and family wellbeing

Does this sound like you?
You're truly passionate about standing up for children and young people. Ideally your background is in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Human Services, or a similar field.

You enjoy being a part of a community and building relationships, and you're comfortable with working with children 0-5 and their families.

Finally, you're a self-starter who is happy to work remotely when not delivering programs.

  • This role requires:_
  • Demonstrated experience in working with families from a range of different socioeconomic backgrounds and culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Degree/Diploma qualification in a relevant field such as Social Work, Human Services or Social Sciences, or significant equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in using a strengthbased approach when working with families
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish goals collaboratively with families and team members
  • Ability to enter and maintain information and case notes in an electronic database
