Description

The QCE and QCIA Unit is part of the QCAA's Curriculum Services Division and is one of three Units which work together to support the work of the Senior Assessment and Certification Support Branch.

It is responsible for activities that contribute to the development, review and implementation of guidelines to support the quality assurance processes for the QCE, QCIA and VET.

This unit also has responsibility for the implementation of the delegation from the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to register school Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in Queensland.

Main responsibilities

The Principal Project Officer is required to work with multiple project teams across the branch meeting tight timelines, while ensuring the work of the Unit is of a high standard.


In this role, you will:

- lead projects involving internal staff to support policies and procedures around the review processes for QCE credit rules.
- lead the provision of professional learning, resources and advice to school personnel to support quality educational programs in senior phase of learning linked to the QCE, QCIA and VET.
- liaise with the Analysis and Reporting Branch of the QCAA and provide expert analysis of trends, VET data integrity and issues relating to the requirements for awarding QCE.
- provide expert advice to Managers and Directors within the Curriculum Services Division on policies, procedures and practices related to QCE advice and QCE eligibility.
- contribute to specific projects as part of the Senior Assessment and Certification Support Branch as director by the manager (e.g. national and state initiatives linked to educational programs in the senior phase).
- prepare briefings, correspondence, and reports.

  • Participate in the activities of project teams within the Senior Assessment and Certification Support Branch (e.g., Confirmation and Endorsement), encouraging continuous improvement, innovation and the adoption of best practice standards and procedures.
